Dis/Connected
2024
Throughout my life, I have often struggled with vulnerability and connection. As a highly self-sufficient and self-reliant individual, I have always found it more natural to move through life independently. My art, however, serves as a way for me to investigate, explore, and romanticize deeper, more meaningful friendships and relationships. Works from my series Dis/Connected are created by repeatedly stamping an image of myself to create compositions that visualize my struggles with and efforts at connection. Using only repeated images of myself, I can create a sense of comfort and familiarity, as well as a sense of support and community.
