Capture the serene majesty of a setting sun with Of Light and Flight, a breathtaking mixed-media original set above a peaceful mountain landscape. A glowing, fiery orb of light sits low on the horizon, casting a soft pink halo into a warm, golden-amber sky. Below, rolling ridges of deep indigo and violet mountains anchor the composition, while a grand, sweeping arch of paper birds orbits around the luminous sun.
What makes this artwork truly special is its dynamic, tactile depth. Hundreds of individual paper birds are meticulously placed and glued by hand onto the canvas, creating an extraordinary 3D element. When illuminated with angled or directional lighting, the raised paper forms catch subtle highlights and cast soft, shifting shadows across the painting, making the flock appear to move and come alive throughout the day.
