Experience a captivating, narrative moment captured in flight with Then Off They Go, a large-scale statement piece. Set against a textured, cool slate-blue atmospheric sky, power lines and a utility tower stretch across the right side of the canvas, lined with perching birds. In a sudden burst of collective energy, a massive flock lifts into the air, fanning out into a sweeping cloud across the open sky.
What makes this artwork truly special is its dynamic, tactile depth. Hundreds of individual paper birds are meticulously placed and glued by hand onto the canvas, creating an extraordinary 3D element. When illuminated with angled or directional lighting, the raised paper forms catch subtle highlights and cast soft, shifting shadows across the painting, making the flock appear to move and come alive throughout the day.
